Just so happy Moscon stacked it. What a race

Probably a TV or race director telling them to get going again. Or maybe the sponsor who paid for the bikes.

I've got a lot of time for Colbrelli and I'm glad he won. Marred it a bit by saying this is his #2 dream race after Flanders.
One of the highlights for me was his reaction to the gel he had with 6.5km to go. It might have been that that got him over the line, but he did not enjoy it one bit.

Best one day sporting event on earth, and that was one of the all time classic editions, chapeau to all finishers, including the camera bikes.

Hah their faces…lack of a clap from MvdP there was a bit telling

Comments (on an IG post) I'm seeing already discrediting Colbrelli's win calling him a wheelsucker
-
• #37259
But he is. And he's making the best of it

Part of the sport isn't it? There's even a quote that covers it...
"Racing is licking your opponent's plate clean before starting on your own" - Hennie Kuiper

Ohh yeah. I am totally into it. MVDP could have raced a little smarter
-
• #37262
What are MVDP's shoes made out of?

He doesn’t though really, does he. He’s too strong so his idea of tactics is to ride everyone off his wheel. Hopefully he does get a bit smarter. That said, without his effort, they’d have been racing for second place.

It seemed to me that they got super clean at one point. I wondered if he sluiced them off with a water bottle. If so I assume it was for the sponsor.

• #37265
I think they're made of Mosconite.

Just so happy Moscon stacked it.
Karma is a bitch.
-
• #37267
If he hadn’t stopped to put clean shoes on he’d have won that.
-
• #37268
I would have preferred Van Der Poel to win, but doesn't calling Colbrelli a wheel sucker over look the fact he went up the road from the peloton first?

Plastic overshoes with an aero sock attached

Colbrelli has had a hell of a year. Losing a spot of weight has done him some good. I should try it
-
• #37271
I’d love to agree with you but Bahrain just won the thing…

Trek's best result from today's race was 25th for Stuyven.
Simmons DNF (yay!)
Maybe they should recalibrate their funding towards women's cycling more.
well done user @Haino so proud
