the current leader of the Met got promoted for having an innocent man murdered in broad fucking daylight, not much surprise that they continue to be an absolute shower of shit.

For some reason (lack of information probably) I pictured that as him panicking, making a break for it, and the po-po frantically firing shots at him. I didn't realise until approximately TODAY that he was literally swarmed on the tube and executed.
