Stolen bikes

Yup, and a lock function with alarm which buzzes if the parked bike is moved.

Front brake is disattached which suggests someone has tried to remove bits from it.

Had my black Canyon ultimate Al SLX road bike stolen early this morning from a communal bike store in my block of flats near South Acton station. Size large.

Hunt wheels, specialized toupe saddle, SRAM force 22 groupset, FSA omega handlebar, time atac MTB pedals, Cannondale bottle cages, ritchey stem.

It was locked with 2 locks. An Abus D lock and an Abus chain lock. The burglars broke in through the main front door and smashed their way through two internal doors to get to the communal bike store. Possibility it was targeted as there were other bikes in the store, unlocked, that were left.

If anyone sees it, especially in West London, Chiswick/ Acton area, please let me know. It has been reported.

My Cotic X, and my partner's Trek Lexa were stolen from Lordship Lane in Dulwich this evening. Please shout if you spot them, they both have sentimental value.

Farrk, that's gonna be hard to shift hopefully and turns up somewhere.

Nextdoor neighbour had his bike taken from a cyclehoop bikehangar this week- no sign of forced entry to the hanger itself but an impressive cut through the bar he had it locked to.

Seen a few variants on bikes getting taken from these which is obv shite but probably fairly likely given how many there are about.

People in w London, or possibly even wider. There's been a series of break ins in Acton area, from communal bike stores. Same MO each time.
Breaking in through front door of building and then smashing through any internal fire doors etc to get to bike store. Seems to be an organised thing. Picking off blocks of flats one by one.

It does make you wonder if it's much harder to prove that it was this or that person if the mask obscured half the face in pictures or videos.

Riding a scooter with a bike over your shoulder must also be pretty conspicuous, not to mention that it probably causes a few balance issues. (I haven't tried it.)

Stolen from a communal garage in Balham last night. Distinctive paint job.

Some of you might remember this bike as you were so helpful last time it was stolen (my 14 year old son was mugged for the bike back in 2019).

Amazingly, we got it back - through the help of someone who had bought it without knowing it was dodgy - but unfortunately, two years later it has been stolen again.

The bike was handmade by a relative. Adult sized black fixed gear single speed bike: silver rims, sturmey archer cranks. Different to the pic it now has black handle bar grips and black pedals (so not so distinguishing!).

Stolen by cutting the lock when it was locked up in Lower Clapton E5.

I'm not hopeful in getting it back a second time but you never know!

Joining the Internet /forum dots together here, you were attacked by bams on a moped? Police recently got one or two of them last week in relation to same thing happening in Richmond Park and surrounding area. Could be linked or at least in some way related that it suddenly turned up.

Had a nagging feeling I recognised the Orbea. Great work @tjmw!

My Cannondale CAAD7 Team Saeco was stolen last night at 02:45 in W9. I got it nine years ago on here. It was stolen from an underground car park, locked up with the super thick Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit U-Lock, I guess they sliced through it with an electric cutter.

It was built with SRAM Red 10 speed (black edition) and had some cheapo Shimano wheels. It's a pretty distinctive and rare frame so please let me know if you see it somewhere!

(turns out I haven't taken many photos of it recently so here it is in the middle of getting a flat fixed with the latest wheels.)
