Lovely bike 😁 here's mine in its current setup. And as @Bethelcat says decals are readily available in all styles and as the anodized ones clean up so well any black version could be made to look matchy. I got my replacement decals from wanit.co.uk. My 2000 rex was a satin dark grey/black anodized and could scratch or get shiny spots on it but My track jet is hard anodized so harder wearing. It was in nice condition but the decals had started to peel but £25 on decals and a deep clean and polish and mine came up like new.

My choice is strictly based on aesthetics.
I want a frame as similar to my track as possible and/or the right Rex Pro (from the Chris King headset, Schmolke, Tune era)
My track frame is a Rex from 1999 and was custom built for a Danish rider.
