Let's offroad / mountain bike / mtb / ride dirt

Chaps and Chapettes,

Have an upcoming work trip to New Forest and was wondering if anyone could recommend somewhere to shred the gnar nearby for an afternoon's diversion over the weekend?

Criteria:

• Must have rental as one of my colleagues doesn't own his own bike (has good bike handling skills though from years of motocross and lots of road riding)...
  
• Ideally nothing that's going to scare the living shit out of aforementioned colleague either although he's ridden Dunkeld on a previous trip and made it out the other side alive...
  
  

I had been looking at Tidworth Freeride and Wind Hill, both of which look like a lot of fun but don't seem to do rental (I'll call to confirm)... Any other suggestions within a two hour drive say?
