Personally gave up on head torches and just hand hold my bontrager bike light.
Turns out I turn my head many directions when running and although my eyes are looking at the path my heads looking in the bushes.
Joys of only running in winter to save bike cleaning.

Alpkit Gamma or Quark.
I got a Petzl Bindi recently to carry as a backup, first impressions are it is good.
As it is so tiny it has a short battery life, defo one for shorter excursions if using as a main torch.

Boom - 5km to 8km is a big jump. Ultra next ;-)

I managed the longest run I ever did last night back from work. I felt good after 5 k my normal stop time so just kept going. I managed. 8k. Quite chuffed.
Is there a forum approved head torch that's not too expensive.?
