  • I like to say I’m 6ft. Without shoes I’m fractions of an inch shorter than the round number.

On road bikes I’m 56-58cm frames. I was ‘comfortable’ riding a 58cm for years but 56cm was better. 57cm best.

I can easily get a leg over the DR350SE in adv boots, so I am probably slightly above average height when it comes to these things.

Mine is a ‘96 XJ, not sure if they got taller by the 00’s. It in fact felt a little cramped and small (after time on a DR) so I opened the seat and added some dense foam sheets to bulk and stiffen the seat up.

Probably gained an inch or two realistically, and stiffened it considerably while riding. Before that it very much felt like sitting ‘in’ the bike, as was described to me by the previous owner.

Finally, when stopping and seated I have a big bend in my legs, and if I stand then there is a big gap between me and the seat. It’s low, not the lowest, but it’s low.

If you’re in the Swindon area any time let me know, you can swing a leg over it.
