    You're either 100 years old, live in Scotland, bad at maths, have forgotten about the 50k in inheritance or there's a serious trick I've missed.

    You might qualify for child tax credit based on your income circumstances if you are claiming child benefit already? Can also be taken into account by mortgage lenders to help affordability.

    Very opposite to the tax the children, buy more golf clubs conversation.

  • No, I was the one arguing for having houses. Having heard all the stories about saving for a deposit here I was impressed you could do it off that income. London is quite a different story though I guess.
