  • ^holy shit...

  • Saw that on WW. Looks nice.

    dem pedals!

  • Carbon snowbike awesomeness?

  • Salsa have been demo'ing a carbon Beargrease

    ..and On-one had this made. Although possibly not as a product test. More a test of a manufacturer AFAIK.

  • Neither are on the snowbike side of the fatbike spectrum. Awesome none the less though.

  • I love to have a bike of this, here in southern Spain there is little snow.

  • I need to lie down

  • Sweet jesus, that's lovely!

    The Beargrease is a racing fatty. So its built to save weight, more than carry stuff, or offer max float.

    Built up with some Marge lite rims, 45NRTH Dillingers, and a light Sram 1x10 drivechain. It'd be crazy light for a fat bike.

  • Meanwhile on mount Etna

  • Fuck me that's a monster

  • Target price for the basic model sub $2000, hmmmmm.

  • Genesis also launched their fatbike as well too.

  • Genesis;

  • There is now a thread for general fat chat

    to keep the chubby chasers from completely taking over the winter/snow thread

  • Bit of a change up for the tourer - into commuter mode with snow tyres option. Paselas going back on for the moment.

    edit: dynamo wire will be sorted.

  • Genesis;

    That looks seriously sleek, clean and tidy. Really nice design (typically genesis(.

  • I'm considering a snow bike for next winter. I'll avoid a fat bike if I can, not something I've ever wanted and the bike should be used in the summer as well.

    How well are studded 26" tires handling proper winter snow conditions?

  • I used the schwalbe ice spikers for snowy forest riding and was really impressed, was worried at first if I hit any tarmac but after a few rides it seemed to bed in the spikes and made them less sketchy. They were a lot more durable than I expected. I’d definitely recommend spikes, in the 90’s I used conti 1.5 cross country which cut through the snow pretty well but were a tad sketchy on ice.

  • I've used ISPs for the past 2 or 3 winters and approve them. Heavy AF and slow rolling on tarmac but work well on snow and ice.

  • studded 26" tires

    Do you want mine? 60-559/26×2.35 Schwalbe Ice Spiker Pro used once for about 15 miles in January 2013 and we've not had snow worthy of the name down here since. £50 for the pair inc. UK postage
