  • Yeah, that's the problem isn't it? Searching through the fineprint on stuff like max item cover and whether or not they're covered in use or locked up or in a car or whatever on a bunch of insurance websites. I'm not sure I've got the willpower :)

    Because I've got old but flash bikes they might've only cost a couple of grand 14 years ago but to replace them now would cost £8k or some nonsense.

  • Give the NFU a call to see if they'll offer you cover, we've got 6 bikes insured some around the £10k mark and they've got no problem with it. I've claimed for a crash, baggage handler damage and one falling off the back of the car.

  • I ended up just sticking the house stuff on Admiral to get some cover. Cost about £60/year. They are pretty shit though so don't cover the Shiv but should just about cover the two next most costly bikes. They have a total bike limit of 11k I think and a per-bike limit of 5.5k for bikes over 1k. I'm sure I'll have fun arguing with them that wheelsets are separate items...
