You're pretty much right - filtering and also taking the lane of the oncoming traffic. Saw the same thing at mass on Friday, a perfect example was tower bridge when for some reason the mass ended up taking both lanes up to about half way over the bridge whilst blocked the oncoming cars and then inturn having a bottle neck.
Yesterday was mainly far too densely populated, people need to space out a bit.
Surprised I didn't see more people come off.
Saw a video of it looking pretty huge! I ended up staying in B Right On for a bit too long to make it.
What was causing the bottlenecks? I wonder if I’m guessing right: I do feel that the propensity for the mass riders, in the last few years, near the front to filter through taffic jams really frustrating - so much better to wait behind, mass up, and turn off the road with traffic when it’s a street big enough. Course I might be way off.
