Are you even a real wanker-hygge-hybrid-hipster-adventurist without a imported illegal boutique slingshot?

Mr Hunter is a marketing savvy man (doesn't stop me from wanting one though)!

I have not shot a single pebble yet. It does not feel appropriate to fire it inside the city and I've been rammed with work so have not been able to escape lately...

is that like me saying 'curry' ?

Could be. I mainly used it here to get all you middle-aged Brits excited

In other news.
I got different forks than I really wanted. I've ended up with the Ritchey WCS 50mm offset adventure gravel forks. Axle to crown is 393mm and I wanted 383mm, but because the steerer is 1 1/8" with integrated crown race I am able to use a Ritchey inset / zero stack style headset. This means that the angles change from HT74° / ST73° to 73/72°.
Pros include being able to run mudguards (as there is eyelets on these forks), less toe overlap and more relaxed geometry which might be nice for long distance riding. There is also anything cage mounts for overnight adventures...
Cons: potentially too slack geometry to get the right fit. This can probably be offset by moving the seat forward on the rails. Hopefully it is within the aesthetically pleasing spectrum.
There is clearance for 48mm tyres on the front and maybe 42mm on the rear. Not a big deal but slightly upsetting to me.
Finally it feels a bit weird as is a race bike with high profile carbon wheels yet room for massive tyres and cargo carrying. I was probably going for a more +100km fast pace all road bike rather than gravel adventure style.Either way it is all within acceptable compromise and I can easily move these on and purchase more racier forks later.

I like those forks - I like the slight curve to them rather than being straight. I don't get why no front hole for light mount though, seems endemic amongst straight steerers I found only Fyxation's sparta have one*. They're (ritcheys) quite £££ though, I'd have thought given so many options for tapered forks you'd have ended up with something more to your spec? if you do want to shift them give me a shout please.
- edit - I mean also with decent clearance for 650b

Well, I got these for work I did and they are what, who I did the work for, had. There is a threaded insert on the back side of the crown. But I am thinking about making a custom stem with light mount under the stem.
Either way I'll let you know. -

Nice - stem sounds interesting too. Frame bag > bar bag then?
-
• #4963
Well I try to avoid bar bags. My thinking is framebag will be enough for 90% of my riding. Then anything cage for tarp and sleeping bag and seat pack for shoes and clothes. But that's not like to actually happen. I'll have the rigid MTB for touring

I like this bike better than my own now.
We got some knobbies for it. Hopefully it can decrease her speeds on tarmac a bit as I am struggling to keep up with her in the city and it is starting to scare shit out of me.
I also hope it will increase traction for her when we are on gravel roads and single-track. Hopefully it will help her gain more control.
And finally we got rid of the reflective side walls that are just horrendous looking and no matter what tester says should not be a part of bike tyre design at all. This is last iteration before she is getting a pedal bike.

I disagree. Totally appropriate

Thanks. Yeah I should have bought her these tyres long time ago
Yeah makes sense. I've done it a couple of times and that has been alright, but slow and painful as you say :)
