I’ve noticed quite a few vehicle number plates seem to have a hazy layer sitting on top. I did a quick google and it seems there is a product that you overlay onto your plate that obscures it from flash and anpr cameras. Is this a very common thing that drivers use? Would you get a slap on the wrists if caught or is it a more serious offence?
In theory it is a fine of up to £1000 but £100 is more normal, if ever caught. There are proposals to change it to 3 points which might be more of a deterrent but still requires getting caught.
