Zukas stuff is all so rad, never seen a bad looking frame from him.

Any 700 x 47 to 50 tyres with a road focus? Most of the wider stuff seems to be in 650b
-
• #21431
Probably lots of trekking, touring tyres heading up towards that width.
Panaracer do GK SK+ in 700x50 so maybe they also do their slick version that wide?
-
• #21432
The GK would fit in the theme of ripping off spotters Vagabond like for like. Probably need a few side knobs at least for NCN bashing.

Which edge is that?
-
• #21434
Just the SS, I don't know why they don't do the slick in anything wider than 38. There is always Rene herse or ultradynaco if you feel flush.

Looks like Stannage.

the correct answer 💯
Props to the dick on the eMTB who almost mashed into me whilst coming up the long causeway as I was on the way down cos he was too busy gawping at the view over his shoulder.

The causeway is quite a fun climb from Redmire, skinny 38mm is just about OK.

That’s exactly the route I took, with exactly the size tyres I was on. Was pretty ok, if a bit slow going. Just one rocky patch where I decided that staying on the bike was a great way to get a puncture, but it was just before a gate anyway so no bother with hopping off.
All round a good route, except for a short stint on Hathersage road, which was a predictable A road flurry of sociopathic SUVs and caravan wankers.

ReneHerse now has a 48mm filetread.
Soma Supple Vitesse EX or SL. 48mm is tubeless.
American Classic has the 50mm Kimberlite. Bit of a porker.

The 45mm Pirelli is worth looking at, they feel surprisingly fast despite being big and decent off road.

Definitely no gravel on Rannoch Moor.

Which route did you take? Planning to do some riding up that way next month.
-
• #21447
We did Part 6 of the Great North Trail from Glasgow to Fort Augustus in three days and then rode to Inverness Airport this morning to pick up a hire van and get back to Edinburgh in time to drop off the van.

No gravel in the Flemish Brabant. Which is a good thing as I only had my road bike with me.

I've seen tarmac lanes in Kent that are less well maintained than that.

Innit! Keep thinking I'll have to bring my CX bike to "road" races
Yes, but it also looks like he had no room to come round and went into the other guy, ahead of him, almost taking him out
