• Snapped on the 130km ride in Anjou the other week. Since then the Durieux hasn't been playing ball. I took it to our friends vintage festival in Stockton, handily on the Cycle Network Route 24 in Wiltshire, and some beautiful cycling country. Alas the front wheel wouldn't stay in true, and kept rubbing on the narrow forks. No amount of fiddling would fix it, so I didn't get any cycling in at all.
Roll on the next weekend and we are helping out in the Eroica Britannia area at the Goodwood Revival, promoting next years event now Goodwood have taken it over. I was hoping Rikki and Tim in the Bike Shop could get the wheel trued up so I could ride it around the track, alas the the problem was traced back the hub, which we didn't have the parts to fix or replace.

So, now hunting some rather hard to find parts to get this bike back on the road. It looked good on the Eroica Britannia stand, but it was built for riding, not a prop ...

Were you wearing the brown jersey? If so, I saw you and pointed out your outfit to my dad. I saw your bike too. Shame I didn’t make the link that it was you else I’d have come and said hello! I was in a red and white late 60s French jersey, black cap, black leather shoes and white socks and I had a tub round my shoulders. I didn’t have anything to do with the Eroica stuff though, I just rode an old bike down in old gear like normal and my tub was my actual spare!
