Would a surfboard-rack style rack not be a bit less unwieldy? E.g.

Obviously affixed to the cargo area rather than frame.

hmm, it's a 3-stage ladder and weighs 37kg. Did toy with this sort of thing when I first got the UA but it seemed a bit scary

I think I’d be tempted to put the wheels nearer the middle to shorten the turning circle, it may swing out wide though
