  • How did you find out that goldfish really trigger me?!

  • Right. That's it. You're going on the list

  • You're going on the list

Please don't put me next to @amey :-(

  • Is there such a thing as too slack?

There's only one way to find out.

  • A mate had some Junior T's on a Kona hardtail back in the day, and they were hilarious enough. Monsters must be a riot!

  • That fork sounds well sketchy

  • Going riding today in Collserola, Barcelona. Anyone have any particular trails they would recommend?

  • Sounds like an open bath fork, which coincidentally, it is

  • My fork doesn't sound like that 🤷‍♂️

  • Maybe it would if you went faster

  • How do you know what an open bath damper sounds like then? 🤺

  • Oh I loved that "chuf-chuf" sound of my old Z1 FR1

  • Rocky Mountain RM7 and RM9! My dream bike when I was about 14/15.
My friend had the normal version of those monster T’s on his dh bike around 2003. Indeed open bath dampers on old Marzocchi made a great sound.

The forks were ridiculously heavy though and made them practically useless for anything other than hucking big drops. Had a tendency to nose dive a lot. Scary biscuits.

  • There’s a guy on Instagram who owns a machine shop and is building his own modern version of the Z1

  • Ahhh, the good old days.

  • Good time. Is that your own club roost?

I still watch Kranked 4 often. Lots of RM7/9’s and Santa Cruz Super 8’s

  • The forks were ridiculously heavy though

    Over 6kg! :-D

  • Cheers, I love a bit of suspension fettling.

  • I need to build a DadSled for transporting the little one around. I've got some 27.5 boost wheels that I wouldn't mind using, essentially I'd like a wanker hybrid built around some boost wheels. What are my frame options, that aren't dirt jump orientated? I can't find a boost frame for 27.5 that doesn't look like it's meant to be doing can-can backflips

  • Surly, surely? Karate Monkey or Bridge Club, both do 27.5, both boost spacing (not 100% on the bridge club being boost, but pretty sure it is).

Surlys make great dadbikes - they’ve got a shitload of mounting points, so you can easily attach all the various racks and crap that you need to carry a kid and all their bullshit.

  • Is that your own club roost?

Negative. It was a village bicycle; passed amongst friends over a number of years in exchange of cash. I’d love to know where it ended up!

    I’ve always been XC:
GT Paloma > Saracen Kili Flyer (Factory team bike) > Merlin Malt 4 > Schwinn Moab (UK Factory team bike!) rounded out my ‘00 bikes.
Pretty lucky here, we have good XC heritage with a number of age group nation champs. I used to snaffle the team bikes on the cheap at the end of the year having washed many pots at the local pub. Then just leant them up on the bike rack at school with no lock…. Those were the days!

  • Having a total brainfart. I lower leg serviced my Lyriks yesterday, which stopped the oil leak out the rebound adjuster, but now they don't fully extend. I think I might have compressed the lowers onto the stanchions before doing the foot bolts up (no idea why I did that, never done it before)

Now when I drop the lowers off again, the airspring is completely retracted into the stanchion, even with all pressure released at the valve. Putting a few PSI in brings it back out again, but it shouldn't be like that.

Three sleepless nights of a teething child and my brain cannot work out how to reset everything. Help please!

Edit: sorted it through a combo of taking valve cores out, foot bolts off, yanking it a bit, then pumping up to maximum. Blocked transfer port, I'm guessing?

  • Does anyone here have rollers that fit their mtb? I’d like to use them at races and for the odd pre gym spin in my garage but my bike is wayyyy too long on the longest roller setting. The road bike is already on the longest hole so add mtb geometry and I’m about 3 inches short maybe. No way I can ride as is, I’ve tried and the bike just rides off the front.
How do tall xc racers do it?
