Lateral flow tests have a very low false positive rate (somewhere between 0.1% and 0.03% according to https://www.gov.uk/government/news/new-analysis-of-lateral-flow-tests-shows-specificity-of-at-least-999)
Because of what they measure they'll have a much much higher false negative rate (somewhere around 40%).
PCR is thousands of times more sensitive, so if you do have any virus present then that's going to ping back positive.
