I have a John Atkins Road bike I built myself from the Gosford Street shop in Coventry in 1984. It’s my training bike used alongside a Raleigh Gransport for racing. The JA has been everywhere round the world and completed the LEJOG in 10 days. The frame I have has a nice spring to it giving good comfort, interestingly you would thing that makes it slower however I’ve had Many more KOM and PBS on Strava with the JA than with the Raleigh. It just seems to wind-up better on when needed.
Overall the frame is great it’s lovely to ride with Light wheels.
From the lettering I would say yours is post 1984.
