We have been using the same seat since she's been able to sit up on her own. I think she feels that the seat and "our bike" is a bit of a safe zone for her.
When I bring her to the workshop and she is feeling like a bit of calm/alone time I roll out the bike and she just sits there. Sometimes with the telly on and a bit of snacks for comfort :)
And thanks. It really sucks. I've never been off my bike for this long before. It's scary
