    @Greenbank : Both ideally. I had thinner tyres and full mudguards fit that fine and I was happy with that setup, it kept things very dry. I just bought one of these for the rear understanding it probably wont do as good a job, but the benefit is to remove it quick. I'd like something similar for upfront, easy to take off when it isn't raining. Think maybe one of those downtube mudguards might work or the one you linked. I was trying to find visualisations of where water gets kicked up from wheels to see where I had to cover with the guards. Didn't have much success.
