Basically doing similar and trying to fit a session in under an hour.
squats, bench, dumbbell row, pull ups, then deadlift/clean and press. If gym is busy then lots of lunges with the studio bar etc.
Been doing 3 x 10 or 5 x 10 to get myself back into things, would I be better going heavier and 5 x 5?
Child + one more on the way, long hours running business, wife long hours too, and a dog to walk
has been a tricky one for my fitness goals. Im not where I want to be in terms of conditioning and strength, and gym attendance. Play 5s, cycle, good fitness from that front but really need to get focused in the gym.
Also been having to choose between cycling and gym etc over last year. Gym has lost out a fair bit.
Anyway not a sympathy plea but any suggestions or what has worked for you for making time for the gym? Do I have to suck it up and just commit to 6am sessions? I already go quite late (went at 10pm last night) when I can, but the problem is being tired or working late then sacking it off.
Also any really good weight programmes I can fit in to short timescales? Intention currently is just back to basics. pulls, bench, squats, rows...
