Gripshift is odd.
As is the rack. Yes, those are great racks, but a flat pack aluminium rack on a frame that costs 1000s, why?

There is also nothing wrong with Cable discs. Once set up correctly they are great.

They're OK, but nowhere near as good as hydro, especially when you have the flat bar options of all MTB brakes before settling on shimano. Those new XC hope brakes would suit this kind of build perfectly.

This is what we get for sitting back and allowing bad actors to normalise cable discs on drops, acting like they're a "valid choice", letting people use the canard of affordability or touring reliability without being challenged, platforming Paul Components etc. Now, big surprise, the cable disc people haven't gone away even though its been years, in fact they're emboldened, trying to get cable discs on 4k flat bar mountain bikes with racks, repeating the same old tired stuff about "compressionless housing" and "easy to adjust"

there's nothing wrong with them, but hydro ones are far far far far far better... plus that's (above) a flat bar bike, even entry level deore brakes will out perform the best cables in every condition...

Flats are shit, cable discs are shit, heavy steel frames are shit.
