Panama and Costa Rica

I'll have a chat with him tonight. Quite rural I think. Has lots of weird wildlife.

Isn't it one of those places where everything will kill you (bugs, reptiles etc)?

Worked in gandoca region of costa rica for a month . What do you want to know? Its a fantastic friendly country and easy to get around.

Any ideas for places off the beaten track in Costa Rica ? - good for birdies.

Gandoca wetland reserve bottom right Caribbean side. Spent 1 month there doing
Vso or middle volcanic area but touristy but bird heaven.

Monte verde is my favourite, but palo verde and Corcovado get honourable mentions. Costa Rica is littered with parks and wildlife.

Easy to get around on the buses as well . Watch for snakes on the side of the road that are not sticks . Mapana i recall.

And the giant spiders and lizards. Not that dangerous but still intimidating.
The spider was Monte Verde. Still the most varied and probably best country I've ever visited so far.

Spent a few months cycling from Mexico to Panama a few years back. Costa Rica and Nicaragua were some of the best places I've ever been to - swimming in volcano craters, having breakfast snatched from your hands by iguanas, having the tents trashed by raccoons and monkeys, swimming with devil rays. Very safe cycling and great, friendly people. Food's a bit shit if you're vegan, but you get by.
