Oh yes, I think this might be the second time I've forgotten you live in the States!
I have a vague memory that Nichola mentioned SPD cleats that basically add height to the entire sole. Can't find anything like that online though.
I have a 1cm discrepancy but for reasons I don't fully understand only have a 3mm shim, so maybe not too ridiculous.
