  • I think so, Thule stuff is so much better quality than cheap versions. The channel mounting system for stuff like bike racks is better than U-bolts and the roof-top bike racks themselves are a huge improvement over cheap ones if you're thinking of getting those, makes you not dread having to use them.

  • Premium mediocrity is one of the reasons why perceptions of Skoda have changed. Why buy a 2 l A6 estate when the Superb is the same underneath?

  • Has anyone got a Nissan Qashqai or similar sized SUV? I might be in the market to buy something next spring, and torn between a small van with a view to doing a camper conversion and something like a compact SUV. It would be primarily for weekends away hiking and wild camping etc, but seeing as we usually do wild camp, I'm not sure we'd really get the use out of a van/camper

  • Yetis are class, being able to take out the back seats completely is a game changer plus solid VAG platform, 2.0 TDI / 4x4 probably the pick of the bunch. They are quite sought after and command strong prices.

  • If you aren't getting a small van then personally I'd get an estate. Don't really get the SUV things. A large estate will sleep two with the seats folded down and generally be more practical than a suv.

    I don't doubt it! They were one of the front runners when I was looking for an estate, then I bought an e46 basically on a whim, lol (haven't looked back since tbf).

    Mostly agreed, I thrashed a 2.0TFI 4x4 up and down the Nufnenpass a few years back racing to get a flight. Unsurprisingly capable, but surprisingly enjoyable. Couldn't do diesel again though.

    I remember reading about a Czech guy some 5-6 years ago who put a 5-pot TT RS engine in one, upgraded turbo and some crazy Revo map as well then took it on trackdays. Quite the sleeper!

  • Parking where I live is in very short supply and very very tight road and tight spaces, I think I'd struggle with something that big!

  • Same here, I don't get why Skoda discontinued it. The Karoq and Kamiq which are the supposed successors in the line up are both comparatively shit. Bring back the the Yeti!

  • The Roomster has the same removable seat system as the Yeti and about the same cargo space and can be had for like half the price. They are far more dorky looking and a bit lower spec (essentially Polo vs Golf).

  • These things are mad LOLS. Best fun I’ve had on 4 wheels in a long time, maybe ever.

    ££ per LOL ratio is like nothing I’ve ever experienced.

  • A mate used to work in a fiat / Alfa garage & loved them - an owner asked him if 20mpg was normal, he said "apparently, yes" - cue nodding & laughter

  • I get about 12mpg from the disco on a good day, so 20 would be dreamy TBF!

  • I've got a roomster - front is like a fabia, rear feels like sitting in the back of a van, with the seats out it's like a caddy. Looks like a bad photoshop render - what's not to like?
