The 58 means 58cm on the seat tube from centre of the bottom bracket to the centre of the top tube. I'm unsure what he means by the 62. 58cm is a regular standard size for bikes.
If your unsure head to a good local bike shop and get them to size you up for a bike.
Or even if you can afford it get a proper bike fit done
Last year I bought my first road bike, a Ridley Icarus SLT frame, and after a year of comfortably riding it even for long tours I can confidently say it suits my size (6ft4). I have bought it second hand, advertised as 62 cm size, and never really bothered to look up any further geometry details. Now that I want to buy a new road bike, I find it difficult to determine the correct size, at least of my previous frame. It says 58cc at the bottom of the frame, just like in the attached pic I found on facebook marketplace. The seller of that Ridley frame also says that it’s 58cm which equates to 62cm centre to too. Can someone explain to me what these measurements exactly mean and how I can use them to compare other frames, e.g. on geometrygeeks.com? Any help is appreciated cheers.
