It should work, but could be improved.
1. Do the whole thing outdoors, and retire indoors while waiting
2. Swirl, don't shake. The last thing you want is to break the container while agitating and douse yourself
3. Put a pin-hole in the lid for pressure relief as the vapour pressure of CH₂Cl₂ is nearly half a bar at room temperature
4. Do it overnight when the ambient temperature is lower to avoid boiling off your precious cancer juice
Of course, my primary recommendation would be to not use CH₂Cl₂ at home, it's restricted for a reason.
