  • I was thinking of dropping the brake lever clamps in an old jam jar, covering with the Cancer-liquid, putting the lid on the jar, giving it a shake and then running away from it and hiding behind the sofa whilst it goes to work. Reckon my plan is doomed to failure?

It should work, but could be improved.

    1. Do the whole thing outdoors, and retire indoors while waiting
    2. Swirl, don't shake. The last thing you want is to break the container while agitating and douse yourself
    3. Put a pin-hole in the lid for pressure relief as the vapour pressure of CH2Cl2 is nearly half a bar at room temperature
    4. Do it overnight when the ambient temperature is lower to avoid boiling off your precious cancer juice

Of course, my primary recommendation would be to not use CH2Cl2 at home, it's restricted for a reason.

    • Will do

    • Noted

    • Can't promise that one, I'll put it somewhere cool though (my garage?)
