finally got round to starting driving lessons now I am getting old - opted for automatic only given EVs are all automatic and there's more automatics available nowadays. seems like automatic just does away with a lot of the faff that makes driving more difficult than it really has to be (hill starts, slow rolling clutch control, appropriate gear selection, clutch control in general etc).
understand why ppl might want the Real Feel and 'accuracy' of a manual transmission but I'm really just interested in getting from A-to-B and going hillwalks...
was driving within 10 mins of my first lesson which was p.cool - felt like a big dodgem though worried my instructor might be a bit cavalier
How was booking your practical? Have a couple of mates who are trying to get their licenses and it seems to be a real nightmare. One couldn't find anything until a few months into next year.
I gather booking practicals and theories is proving pretty difficult right now (even up here in the provinces) - probably should just book both. would give me something to aim for I guess
