finally got round to starting driving lessons now I am getting old - opted for automatic only given EVs are all automatic and there's more automatics available nowadays. seems like automatic just does away with a lot of the faff that makes driving more difficult than it really has to be (hill starts, slow rolling clutch control, appropriate gear selection, clutch control in general etc).
understand why ppl might want the Real Feel and 'accuracy' of a manual transmission but I'm really just interested in getting from A-to-B and going hillwalks...
was driving within 10 mins of my first lesson which was p.cool - felt like a big dodgem though worried my instructor might be a bit cavalier
that's good to know thanks. hopefully by the time I'm at the stage where I'm confident enough to drive abroad, that might be less of an issue. otherwise, my signif other can drive stick so she can be DD
