There is an apparent concession by the government that it will be ringfenced for social care. But we all know that anything they say isn't worth a bean. Presumably they will just reduce the un-ringfenced part of the department budget to compensate...

Apparently polling consistently shows people are happy for NI to go up as they think it pays for health services rather than just being a tax on employment

Can't believe this fucking NI increase is going ahead. I can only conclude that it's because the misinformed general public doesn't realise a) how regressive it is and b) that it doesn't go into some special pot that pays for the NHS and pensions. Fuck off Boris you bellend.
