• Last time we only needed 30+ rims it didn't matter that they weren't all pro series. It just meant those that ordered standard rims only saved 5%. They may have changed this though...

  • I have had Sensah 2x11 shifters on two bikes for a year now. No issues. Actually like it more than Sram force I had earlier. The front derailleur is ahift, but the rear is actually quite snappy. I have had a Shimano Grx as a backup, but I haven’t needed it.

  • Add me up for 2x rims; FALCON PRO rim AR45 with access holes, black decal. 1x 24h and 1x28h

is anyone going for the wavey looking rims? naturally i want the most "modern" rims but fuck me are they ugly

edit: they look ok in the irl photos actually. might have to try them.. will mull it over

  • As I received a few messages about details of delivery and more, I wanted to note I am just trying to organise the numbers and give this group order a bit of structure, however I did not suggest I'd be the one taking care of it all. Or better said, I am happy to liaise with LB, collect the money and place the order, but unfortunately I live in a flat and don't have enough room at all to store 30+ wheels/rims. Part of the reason for including the post code as well in the spreadsheet (see link in previous page) is also to find the most convenient location amongst those involved, for having the order delivered to, to minimize last leg of the collection/postage and make it convenient for everyone. Hope this makes sense.

  • Can you please amend/fill in the spreadsheet with these details?

  • updated... worth saying, perhaps, I'm in Leeds.... so would need them shipping once they land in the UK.... is this gonna be a problem? i realise this is a pain for whoever gets them... obviously i'll cover all costs plus... beer money/forum donation/charity etc etc....

That said, collection is not necessarily beyond consideration!

  • Added myself to the speadsheet!

  • I've added my order too

  • Cool, thanks for adding to the spreadsheet, I will send an email tomorrow with what we have so far to LB for a quote, asking to price each item as a standalone and then price them all as a bulk or tell us what discount they can apply per rim/wheel.

Thanks also for the messages, some of you kindly offered to use their premises for delivery address, which is great, was confident this could be the case.

I would suggest to first gather the interest, get the numbers and confirm the convenience of the bulk order, then move it to a separate group DM, so that we can work out this level of detail (personal info, delivery, payment and so on). This far I would only say that people ordering should at the very least be in UK, preferably in London and able to collect or willing to arrange courier pick up, requiring almost no extra faff for whoever takes care of receiving the whole order.

Also, I might sound assertive, but I have never done this before, just keen to lead it this far to see it happen. So, if anyone that perhaps was part of previous bulk orders has a lesson learnt, please share it.

Lastly, apologies to anyone not interested in buying from LB for momentarily taking over this thread.

  • Just noticed this about the LB order, I’ll have a look in the Morning if that’s ok.
Where’s the link for the spreadsheet?

  • Just caught up with this as been travelling.

Mine are for a tandem. They are the ones that Edwin at LB recommended as they can add more material to strengthen them. I'll ask him if they can also do it with the Pro versions and update the sheet.

Actually, looking at the sheet, have we now hit 30 Pro rims? I've asked him anyway - see what he says.

  • apologies - have amended! thanks for all the admin you've been doing :-)

  • I don't think there are pro series versions of the rims I want sadly

  • I organised the last 30+ rim order and l have the below comments.

    • Having google sheets rather than excel would have been better so that people could edit their requirements rather than me having to do so (you've already done this)
    • Once you've reached the 30 rim threshold (which didn't need to all be Pro when we ordered) then set a hard deadline for changes and edits and then lock the sheet
    • Send to LB and get all the pricing and shipping confirmed, if doing TPD then work out the landed cost of everyones portion of the order. Work out TPD contribution proportionally based on individual wheelset value.
    • Then get everyone to confirm they're still in once costs have been finalised.
    • I didn't ask but you could ask Lightbicycle if they can send people individual PayPal invoices for the group order (they might). As I never explored the split invoice option everyone paid me for their portion of the order, we kept a running tally of who'd paid. Once I had all the money I paid LB. I then shared order status tracking links and shipping tracking in due course. People either collected from my address, or I dropped off a few sets with Martin (Arkane) and others sorted couriers.
  • Friend of mine could be interested, I'll contact you if it's a go.

  • On money, when I did one we used PayPal pools - worked pretty well and avoided a ton of cash being held / paid out upfront

  • I hadn't seen Paypal Pools before, looks ideal for this kind of thing

  • I'd set up a money pool soon, Paypal are stopping the service from 30th Sept.

  • I asked Edwin if I could use the Pro rims and he said yes, so I'll amend my order

In his reply he seemed to think I was coordinating the order and he got on to discount terms. Essentially he was offering 20% for 30 pro rims, not 30%.

He also said 'For 30 rims, rough shipping cost is USD860. Tax included.'

And he sent me his ordering excel spreadsheet, which I can forward on.

  • Shame if they have lowered their discount amount.

  • i have bought even more sunglasses which are surplus to requirements. would anyone like these for £12.50 shipped? they don't have any spare clear lenses but come with 2x darker lenses. build quality seems good and I have kept another pair
