this is the vibe.... but obviously no squish and proper handle bars
@josh yes...... but a wee bit slacker and longer
how is this different than the homer??
well if you've ever tried to ride the homer round a switch back on a trail....lmaooooooo it's just "BRRRRRRRPPPPP....stanky leg...... bear trap pedal going into my shin ..... the sound of me falling into a bush"
which is very good, and i think will be better single speed when i can just ride it over kerbs and round parks, the occasional forest loop. a 29r bmx. .... single speed... thomson 6bolt....stooge bars.... soooooooooooon
but i think i'd like a limo, something luxurious to just carry me over fire roads, cycle lanes, down hills when i'm tired and i just want to go home. maybe it has gears, maybe it can be ran without gears.
i think what i liked about the old raleigh, all those pages back, as mentioned before is it was just plush, i would like something plush again....but capable of going down hills.
as @yoshy pointed out, something like a modern gravel bike, maybe somehwere between a modern gravel bike and a rigid hard tail ala ALICE/bigbro/karate monkey, 29r,
@BareNecessities bike caad is very close... maybe a segmented straightblade fork if we're going this direction and less cross check
this is fun tho, sure next week i will want a gravel tricycle or like..... "a 29r track bike"

I like those
It's a 29er though. I've probably drawn it a bit big, so the wheels don't look full size

• #1329
unironically yes but 29

This is what I want so bad

Shirley
It fits a 29 X 2.35 tire, is non-suspension corrected, has an English bottom bracket shell, a classic five piece segmented fork and utilizes rim brakes

I have seen Indra riding one of those in Epping, so I guess

Having just tried thrashers ogre can confirm it feels different from the homer,
Reassuring
Reassuring enough to get two 2.1 inch mtbs?

You need 2 at the very least, if only for a summer tyre and winter tyre variant

Return of this, shame it’s going to be broken down, forgot how nice it is really
If anyone wants it as is, speak (and pay) now or forever hold your piece

You going to be selling the dynamo lights?
-
• #1342
Lights have already been dibsed in the event of a split unfortunately, good pal who builds lovely bikes is taking most of it.
Pretty much will only be the frame to get rid of if @josh doesn’t want it
Riding it round the block was a nice reminder that this is
A) an extremely lovely bike
B) I like my other one more
C) swept bars >>>> drop bars
-
• #1343
Having just stuck some Jones h bar knock offs on my steamroller I can whole heartedly agree with c
-
• #1344
If a split happens, I have my beady eye on those pedals
-
• #1345
Unfortunately the pedals are for me and will be going on a bike, some time…somewhere
-
• #1346
Fair enough, they're great
-
• #1347
Does this fit on any of the mood boards (if you ignore the drops)?
-
• #1348
I’ve got like 20 of them on the go, I will fit it somewhere between “want an xc bike” and “something with more rubber than a gravel bike”
-
• #1349
You'll regret selling this. Maybe not straight away, but you will.
-

Yeah, it’s more than likely.
But it’s just a bike, the form of the bike is unimportant, as is ownership of it, the memories, lessons and emotions which stem from it still exist; I think I’m more than ok making new ones elsewhere
Even if I will pull up a photo like and old fit pic and go “damn, remember when I dressed dope as fuck/ had this insane Ronnie wagon” and bore people time to time
this basically.
