  • A TourXc (“tor-ex-e”) could be a thing?

  • I have experienced the feeling that "another bike is the answer" but past a certain point it becomes a chore to maintain a fleet.

IMHO wait until inspiration strikes for the next bike. Shred the pomp and the homer in the meantime.

  • A TourXc (“tor-ex-e”) could be a thing?

    X-Tour-C?

  • X-tour-c-ionately priced

  • Imo next bike should be the IL Epping, built with gears though not as SS and with a plain paint job to make it a bit stealth.

Then sell the pomp and transfer the parts to a beater mixte frame with clearance for 32s.

Homer for off road rides, ILE for general rides, mixte for the lock up.

Naturally you'll struggle to find a beater mixte with the right sizing so you can eventually get a third custom frame with a rust paint job etc.

  • Dont get too obsessed with Epping or you might look into moving to north london (pukes).

Bikes should be built only for Plantation Lane on NCN21 uphill and downhill (llamas optional).

  • Me and thrasher were talking about this Monday, how it makes sense to have two nice bikes (maybe more if you’re in that tax bracket) and then literally a river bike you can just not care about but runs smoothly

Unfortunately at this time I only have space for my river bike and it’s a bit more river ’n’ dale

@Cupcakes is correct, obviously, compounded by the fact my bb started squeaking mid ride yesterday and it’s going to stay like that till enough stuff starts braking that I pay a bike person

But realistically if one does not direct their energy into wanting a new bike and the low effort creative / distractive posting/ moodboarding/ waffling that comes with it. One would have to focus on the reality that they’re working the next 70 years, 5 days a week, 8+ hours a day to listen to a guy, it’s always a guy, who hates the situation as much as one self waffle on about why one should be caring about an up coming KPI. Which one can only assume stands for “kompletely pointless idiocy”.

If one cannot break up the refreshing of sales force with the refreshing of geometry geeks, surely one would quickly go a bit postal? If one could not sit ideally browsing the radavist in an overrunning all hands, surely one would simply realise the absurdity of the situation and make better life choices. Maybe a career move, a digital detox or organising the working class internationally to bring about a political and economic change

Maybe One can compromise with it all, Maybe one would actually really enjoy working 70% of ones time on this planet if the NHS would give one a little healthcare, as a treat. You know, just a little well documented drug to help one feel “better about their place in the capitalist machine”, rather than making one go privately while insisting that one “can simply change ones mindset” while one waits 3-5 years for an appointment. Then maybe one would become a really good girl boss, an essential and determined petite bourgeois agent of capital driving gdp and productivity

But until then, thinking rationally and pragmatically. Worrying about what monstrosity of a bike one gets next, that one has no room for, no need for and no desire to fix when it breaks, is the healthiest option.

  • The Kompletely Pointless Idiocy will be the name of the first majcorp full send full face full rigid boost axle MTB.

  • no1 has really done Boost with rim brakes y'know

  • Unspeakably handsome.

Is the blackmtn monster cross basically a cross check? Or is it somehow an improved version? Asking for a friend.

  • It's a cult crosscheck on steroids, designed by a tall person. I've got a road+ and, if the colours are good this year, it's going to be hard not to add a monster cross to the collection when they're back in stock.

  • I know full well I should just get (one of) my 1x1s resprayed and build that with rim brakes for bimbling around the Cheshire plains next summer and have basically the same thing but with teeny tiny wheels.

  • Unsure where I'm going with this...

  • Swinley?

  • This is uhhhhhh surprisingly close to a mental picture of what I wanted out of that bike design

Maybe be with a touch more stand over for frame bag space, an no curved seat tube… do they do anything? I assume it gives you the ability of a having the saddle over the wheel while maintaining seat tube angle

  • north london (pukes)

    excuse-moi?

  • The curved seat tube is primarily to allow tyre clearance with shorter chainstays. This one has 15mm longer stays and a 30mm longer seat tube
