• Indeed, don't think I saw a single tree on the moor in the eight mile section! Wikipedia states that it's a forest in more of the 'traditional hunting grounds' manner, for what that's worth.

  • @cgg delivered a wonderful diatribe at the the Forest of Bowland total lack of trees. I think he was roughing it off road for a while and in some exposed weather, but yeah from all reports it's a modern misnomer

  • There's a handful of conifers at the northern end, just before you get to the farm/tarmac (if you're heading north). Think that's the best you'll get.
