I have the Fly Creek UL 1 and groundsheet, cost is a pain but it all packs so well I don’t mind too much. Fast Fly setup is erm, v well ventilated. I used that to save weight on what turned out to be a v wet weekend and was freezing all night. Still probably weighs less than my bivvy tarp though, so I might use it again with the bivvy in future
Yeah, I reckon if you could get one and then copy the dimensions onto your own piece of material you could probably do a DIY job. I guess it depends if you've got a sewing machine, etc.
I was listening to Overlander podcast and those guys make a lot of their own tarp setups so it sounds tricky initially but like most things gets better with practice. For me though, with no kit and more money than time I'd probably just shell for the £75 groundsheet and then whinge about the cost for months afterwards. :)
