• I'm not sure if this is allowed, but I feel it's a worthy cause and is happening in London, right now.

From the Afghanistan & Central Asia Association.

There are hundreds of refugees now quarantining in hotels near Heathrow. If you can support the Afghan refugees to feel welcome in this country by helping them to get the essentials they need, that would be great.

They are in immediate need of baby food (halal), formula, bottles, sterilisers, nappies, wipes plus toiletries for adults and children.

If you are able to order any of this via Amazon that would be hugely appreciated. Please have it delivered to:

    Unit 9
    Griffin Centre
    Feltham
    TW14 0HS

This is the Afghanistan & Central Asia Association and they are doing a fantastic job of supporting the community and distributing donations. They will help to distribute donations to the refugees this weekend.

    1. They have created a wish list on Amazon to make it super easy to find something to order - any item will make a huge difference to the families arriving here with nothing. https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/25DB93407V44K?ref_=wl_share

    2. If you live in London and would like to donate clothes for adults and children (and babies) - you can drop off or post to the above address. Please arrange them though by women/men/boys/girls and label the packages accordingly. Makes it much easier for distribution.

    3. If you want to help at the centre itself or with deliveries please email friends@afghanistan-central-asian.org.U.K.

    Thanks everyone.

  • Thanks for sharing.
I’ll share that link on my social media.
(and chip in a bit too!)

  • Cheers, appreciated.

  • Donated. Thank you for sharing something concrete that individuals can do to help.

  • This is their twitter: Afghanistan & Central Asian Association It looks like lots is being done to help.

  • And the Guardian published this yesterday: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/aug/28/a-thin-stretched-welcome-for-britains-new-afghan-arrivals

It looks like of the people who've arrived in the UK with literally what they're wearing, there is no support from the local authority or from the Home Office. At the moment these people are stuck in quarantine.
