He'd not ridden a road race since the end of June, as he was totally focused on the Olympic MTB race. He said before the race that people told him he should enjoy the Olympic gold medal, which he had, so he'd come into the race below his best form and was hoping to ride into it.
Which he looks like he has, after his showing yesterday.
Haven't been able to follow the vuelta, but what is going on with Pidcock? Is he just using it as building block for the worlds?
