Driven a few hundred miles in the 530 now and it’s so good, totally shrinks around you on a B-road, the auto box in sport mode doesn’t leave you feeling short changed at all, I’ve never driven a well matched engine and auto box, the merc was hopeless, but this is a totally different deal. Cruising I just feel really posh in it and pushing on on a motorway or dual carriageway it’s got all the power you could want, proper shove in the back at ‘only’ 220bhp.
Got a massive service (oil, filters, plugs, gearbox, diff, coolant, brake fluid, belts, battery) done during which they discovered a leaking oil filter housing gasket. went to an indie and they were fine this time. £2k worth but I’m hoping to never buy another family car.
