I worked in the design team just after they did the nickel plated frames, so there were quite a few prototypes around.
At one point earlier in this thread there were rumours of 20" wheel Brompton prototypes being tried out. Did you come across anything like that?

No nothing, there was some stuff which was just starting out when I was there that hasn't made it out yet. Most projects have been released now, ebike was still not at finished production stage at that point. There was quite a lot of work around titanium manufacturing which feels like it probably isn't finished either.

I have a 2013 S2L that I've recently put Ergon GP2 grips on.
Unfortunately I'm now struggling to change gears, there isn't enough clearance between the lever and the new grips.
Can I fit the new integrated brake lever/shifter to my older bike?
Would I need any additional kit besides this - https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/gear-shifters/brompton-dr-gear-shifter-with-integrated-brake-lever-left-hand-2-speed-silver-black/ ?

I used to be able to slide my finger over and shift the lever up, now I have to properly shove it. I've tried moving the shifter further away from the grip but it doesn't help.

Have B75 with JK mid-rise bars and would like to run flat bars.
Running pre 2017 levers & shifter; would this work? -
• #10045
You need a new stem really dude, the old m type stem is so short and straight you would have to be 5’0 for that to work okay
-
• #10046
That's what I though, but doesn't B75 have M stem which is longer than S stem?
Am I missing something here? -
• #10047
Penny's just dropped i think!
Post 2017 M stem's longer? -
• #10048
I had similar issues on a S2L. Ended up cutting an inch off the end of the grip to make it all fit better.
-
• #10049
No, M type stem is shorter in height and reach than S type, old pre 2017 m type is even shorter in height an reach.

your shifter is over throwing; check the set up, the lever should not need to go down this far
I worked in the design team just after they did the nickel plated frames, so there were quite a few prototypes around. I think the production one was brushed then plated, while this wasn't. The factory used to run 4 days a week so I got to put it all together walking through the production line on a Friday afternoon.
