I think ejays offering is the supercase/ceramic model though. I was just very happy to see the model I own with such a massive price tag, although that does seem a bit strong.

Is it me or is that a bit much? (It came with a diving helmet as a case).

Looks good, nice story. Bit big. Maybe some hipster tax included in the price.

• #57456
ahahaha the fucking state of this

I do like the styling of it, the special edition is $2k with a Sellita sw200 movement and ridiculous helmet case and the non-special edition is $900 and has a Miyota movement the same as their <£200 watches like

I'm not sure that's a great deal. -

It'd like some shit "limited edition" video game pre-order shite.

Taking of faded bezels...
Sites had a little update
Description is a little open to interpretation, definitely wouldn't class this dial as beautifully patinated.

They’ve finally done it. This is the one. SLGA007. Thinnest Spring Drive yet. No power indicator. Beautiful dial. Ticks every single box. Only 2021 of them though. $8700.

Yeah saw that they put it on the back, pretty mad!
Quick video here if you want a better idea of the dial:

Lmao that must be a joke. Looks like somebody dropped the dial and hands in the oven after a nice canal water bath.

I'd like that if they'd made it in 36 mm and put a proportionate crown on it. New bracelet finish looks nice.

That Bulova with the 16mm lug width - LOL
-
• #57467
Definitely the best Series 9 yet.
-
• #57468
The bracelet is pretty much the same as all their previous ones, except for the 22mm lug width. They didn't polish the centre link edges, which is a good thing, but otherwise it's not really an improvement over the existing ones.
Reminder of how well these watches sit on the wrist…

a beauty, just looks too large IMO

Don't love the hands and hour markers. I am aware it makes me odd, but I also like the power indicator on the dial.
-
• #57471
I've never minded the power reserve indicator either (except in the odd case where they rotate the movement to put the date at 4 - the meter ends up in a really weird place). But it REALLY seems to grind some people's gears (no pun intended).

Feel like it might be the photo. From Fratello:

That dial does look good.
Having tried on the "silver birch" version - yeah, when looking directly down on it it sometimes looked like a lot of watch compared to what I'm used to, but that's because:
- it's 40mm with a 22mm steel bracelet, so yeah
- it has no differently-coloured bezel (eg diver or tachy bezel), it's all steel
- it also had a silver dial which probably exacerbates both of the above
In reality though it's no different to any other 40mm steel watch. And the way it hugs the wrist is honestly so much better than pretty much anything else I've tried at that size. Definitely better than my SLA or a Moonwatch. It genuinely surprised me.
- it's 40mm with a 22mm steel bracelet, so yeah

very nice

I often love the detail on the power indicator on spring drive watches and along with the sweeping second hand it adds distinctive character. It is also very practical.
