What I'm saying is it doesn't look like aluminium that's sanded. It looks organic rather than metallic

That’s a nice looking face. I like the look of their 36mm explorer automatic.

Latest in the Aliexpress straps, a woven Nato. I like it, it's very soft and comfy and the holes are nearly bang on the right width. I think the perlon Nato I ordered is now in the country so that'll be good to compare.

Perlon Nato turned up. Perfect, exactly what I'd hoped for. All watch straps should have near infinite adjustability.

I got an Alpinist (SARB017) from C24 and it came with an Uncle Seiko Jubilee bracelet. The bracelet looks and feels nice enough but the clasp is a nasty, cheap piece of work. Are there alternatives either for the clasp only or the whole thing? I'll probably end up putting it on a strap 99% of the time anyway, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

Swiss Time Services.
Not the cheapest , but certainly the best. I wouldn't trust any of my Omega to anybody else.
( they are currently doing two for me) -

I've used the little yellow watch shop on Clerkenwell road.
No idea how they compare with others for quality or price but the watch works.
He may even be retired by now.

I know , common as muck !!
That texture is basically sanded to allow the glue to set properly to the bezel.
