With absolutely no kickbacks whatsoever, I'm sure.
The perks when they travel overseas for business are damn good. Entire embassies mobilise for a trade envoy, and they stay at posh hotels, ‘network’ at expensive restaurants above the prescribed ‘reasonable personal expenditure’, travel by private transport, etc etc. One hopes they are actually effective at increasing trade.
