I think 24 should be fine tbqh
24-30 @ 29x2.1 should get me up most stuff? enough to buzz along on the flatter dirt, unridable on the road
22-47 @ 700x35 was fine for fire roads if a little large for the steepest stuff
One can always walk ofc… but would also like to get round the trail
