That looks like the ceramic bezel to me.
Got the original order email?

The website showsthe ceramic as white applied to eched indices. But has a missing pip.
Mine are 'silver' coloured indices and perfectly smooth. But ALSO has a missing pip.

Mine looks like yours and I’m pretty sure it’s ceramic.

Not sure about now but older ceramic ones are smooth with an applied pip. Looks identical to yours…
Never seen aluminium ones look like that.

It's the aerosol oven cleaner you need. I've etched quite intricate patterns in Alu foil with it before.
Have you considered a nice salty run through the dishwasher (with topped up dishwasher salt) might have some effect?

I picked up one of these endlessly reviewed Chinese made Seagull mechanical chronographs locally for £50. It seems like most watchy Youtube channels bang on about these trying to show that they can review low cost watches and find good things to say about them, and it’s kind of gripped my shit over time.
That being said I really like it for what I paid. It’s very pretty, well finished and seems accurate enough. It seems illogical that these could be knocked out for pennies yet still maintain good QC. Then again only a fool would underestimate the all powerful Chinese empire.

Ceramic bezel inserts aren’t silver like that, are they? It looks just like the Seiko SPB type that are anodised aluminium with some kind of high gloss clear layer on top.
Edit: having said that, it looks just like this one, which is supposedly ceramic:

Doesn’t a Sub have some kind of proprietary magic metal dust injected in the bezel indices to make them sparkly? Wonder if it’s a steinhart version of the above.
-
• #57413
I think it might be a platinum based paint on a sub
-
• #57414
I think it’s like a PVD thing on Rolexes where they fuse a coating of platinum into the recessed bezel markings. Or something.

Hang on, I’ll drop mine in oven cleaner and we’ll see if the same thing happens

@ChainBreaker looking back at your hot water immersion pic. The bezel looks kinda too thick to be an alu one.
-
• #57418
There's only one way to find out. @ChainBreaker bend the bezel as hard as you can, if it snaps it's ceramic

I like this new color

Yes I have the same movement in my alpha.
My first one lasted 5 years and then I just replaced.
Just makes u think what is the point in all this brand devotion. 😎

Looking at the underside of the bezel, it looks like the same texture as carbon fibre. Anyway, I'm going to give this up now.
.... And try on my Pepsi Steinhart! 😂😂😂

I think I agree. Been wondering for a bit. Not sure I'm quite ready to try remove it.
