  • Hey !! I've had my Moonwatch for 8 years !!

  • Yeah, how strong are those lights? I have a Seiko samurai Pepsi bezel... It's been used in Australian summers (surfed in) almost daily for around 4 years now and there is only a slight fade to the red.

  • I’m thinking day to day wear don’t get expose to that might lights as we work (we most of us) indoor, and some of us probably wear one watch a day ( looking at you also @ejay2.0 ).

Direct light in a fixed position everyday is way more than on our wrist.

  • You're probably right. Also means I need to get out surfing even more!

  • But it's fading caused by UV light and only a type or range of UV light within the spectrum?? AD spotlights won't give off any UV light. I'm sure watch brands would be specific on that even if they did.

  • No idea 🤷‍♂️

  • Yeah I was thinking that too, I also remember a lots of you often express how bizarrely bright/tinted the AD display tend to be making the watch look oddly cheap.

  • A day late but this is a great holiday watch

  • @TRA kind words, thanks..

@revenant-v I don’t think so, or I’m not aware of it, what make you believe so ?

@PawG yes it is, a bit expensive considering the service to come and the lack of papers.. but I would have bet on the result, case seems strong, dial clean etc etc

@Grumpy_Git thanks you, but I think the best watches are those we wear and make us smile..

And in that perspective, it is my best watch :)

  • Looks great, love the strap

  • That is true , I do bring two watches to work and change them at lunchtime. only sometimes though . Doesn't everybody do this?

  • Caution to the wind

  • Clearly needs to be used on crocs too.

  • definitely did my alu Seiko bezel by sitting it in a pot of bleach for ~60 seconds. Surprised it didn't work.

  • No jokes, been sat like that for 20mins... In standard bleach.

I'm starting to wonder if it's secretly pretending to be a ceramic...

  • I wonder if both agents being gels could be hampering it.

  • I am definitely NOT doing Mr Muscle. I'd like to simply fade the black not liquidise it.

  • I decided fuck it. Why not.

  • Local Breitling boutique had a pistachio Premier chrono in. Excuse shitty picture.

Dial is a true pistachio colour (not as grey as it appears in some pictures), and looks really nice. Lots of depth to it. Wears well despite looking really thick from the side. Movement also looked nice but I didn’t like the feel of the pushers. There was a lot of springy travel before the click, and the click itself felt quite light, weak almost. Bit odd.

Nice watch overall, with a dark grey suede strap it would look very classy.

  • do you know anyone local who keeps reptiles? Shove it under a daylight UV lamp for a week.

  • Nope

Website shows the markings are engraved

Mine is not, you can see the alu numbers

  • Oven cleaner will strip the anodising if you leave it long enough, you could try a very quick dunk then wash.

  • Almost looks like it’s got a clear coat on it to protect it. Doesn’t look like the bare aluminium is exposed, that might be your problem.

  • If anyone's wondering about the quality of Steinhart watches...
