Not sure if the right thread, but I inherited a captain's clock a few months back, nothing special but loads of sentimental value. The key to wind it is missing, can anyone recommend where I could find a replacement/get a new one made?

So...
As an experiment, I've decided to throw my daily at this faux aged bezel thing. I know some don't like it, some do. But this is an experiment. Fun times for all π
Sacrificial lamb is an alu steinhart Ocean One
I've tried softening the glue with hot water (I'm half cut already) . But it didn't work.
So I dipped it face down in bleach.
... No jokes... Nothing.
Hive mind, you may love it or hate it, but this is a laugh. What's the best way to approach this?
I want battle scars, I mean, literally, that's what this is for!

Saltwater? Repeated exposure to saltwater tends to fuck shit up pretty quickly.

Worse that chlorine??
I know btw this is standard chlorine at a ridic low % but I can make it higher. What's people's thoughts.
And sure, I can stick it in salt water if you want.

Coke cleans pennies, what destroys pennies? I mean, short of sulphuric acid!

Leaving pennies on an active railway line rail does a fairly good job.

They'd both be cleaned... Like a good dishwasher would do.

Wrapped in sandpaper
Neither the bleach nor the dishwasher seem to have a positive effect on the sandpaper

Your man bark and jack on YouTube did this with an skx. Bezel and markers I think. Pretty sure he made a video detailing it.
The black bay fauxtina I actually thought was pretty interesting. Decently executed and has a piece thatβs unique to him. Not that different to an skx mod just more β¬β¬β¬. Defo not for me tho.

Wonβt this damage the seal making it less water resistant?

I'll go back an check. Cheers!

Might. Might not.
I tried getting the full bezel off but no, it won't budge.

How about a weak caustic soda wash? Maybe a start with 20 seconds in a solution then rinse? Would be ideal with bezel off...
Madness.
