They were being sold in the UK under the name 'metro racks' but they seemed to have dropped out of stock and not come back (Brexit I assumed) if you do buy one can you let me know how much it ends up being to import? I know a few people who need similar

Possibly a silly question but is there a forum-approved basket for zip-tying to those Jtek alloy front carriers? Any particular reason not to buy just any old cheap wire basket?

Wald, always wald.
-
• #1107
Walds are definitely great, but an IKEA Pleja wire basket desk organiser is almost precisely the same dimensions as a middle sized one.

I don't even want a rack, just setting up that comment 🤣

I've ordered one to UK that ships today. Will let you know how much it costs.

Mine just arrived today after 8 days since order. I was expecting some sort of extra charge to take delivery, but nothing happened. Worked out to £38 shipped in total (the amount I first paid when placing the order).
From Ridewill.it:
Total: €27,90
Shipping Fee: €16,90
Gestion Fee: €0,00
Total
(tax include): €44,80 -

Smashing, thank you!

I got mine. Need to provebrly get some better fitting as I had to bodge it with stuff from my box.

I used some zip ties to take the weight onto the handlebars from the rack rather than onto the bodged mount.

Want to order one of the BRN front messenger racks mentioned above.
They are supplied with rods with 6mm holes.
They also sell rods with 10mm holes.I’d be fitting it to Cinelli Parallax with Phil Wood hub.
Would anybody know if I’ll need to order the bigger diameter rods?
Thanks!

Pelago sell a "Rasket", which is a basket with direct attachment legs, looks very sturdy.
-
• #1117
This has a pretty low weight limit I think, @ginllfixit has one and might be able to tell more
-
• #1118
Thanks for the reminder of Pelago - looks like the small version of their commuter rack with a wald or similar on top would give me the flexibility I'm looking for and is 10kg load rated

Wondering if anyone can help me work out what fittings I need for this?

What are you attaching it to?

Ha! Of course, that would help.

As you only have one mount point on the bottom of the fork legs, you'll need to see if you can get the legs of the lowrider and the MTN rack to line up. Then an M5 bolt through the two racks on each side and into the dropout should sort the bottom mounting. The top mounting looks a bit more of a challenge. What's under the electrical tape on the rack? and is there a hole in your fork crown?
-
• #1123
It’s just a bit of stray tape, and yes, the fork is drilled. I could drill the rack and mount some sort of bracket?
-
• #1124
I would drill two holes in the rack and use something like this:
https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/carriers-racks/thorn-4mm-stainless-steel-carrier-fittings-18cm-long/
with a 90deg bend. -

Thanks very much. Aligned the two spurs to one bolt, will get those fittings ordered and should be all good.
Also. Nees a 20kg pizza rack, for a bike with mounts. What's the go to?
Edit this seems to tick the box
