• I had two pairs of socks, but I think they were just one small factor to them disintegrating/rotting so quickly.

    For instance shoes that maybe had too much padding, just meant they didn't dry in short stop sleep, which then kept the socks wet. At the point they started to go downhill they started to swell, then the shoes were too small, so blood couldn't get to them and it just sped up the process. The rain was also very heavy at intervals that meant that they basically stayed wet almost all of the time for 3 days.
